Yet they're only getting 4 releases out of Sgt. They got 5 releases out of Medabots, a franchise with 91 episodes. They went from two 50 episode sets, to a 100 episode one and lastly, "here's the rest of the show (all 150+ episodes)." To me, that reads like they're desperate to get it over with. Frog was selling well for them, I think they'd be milking out a few more releases from the show than they have. No offense, but I don't see that happening. Sorry for the info dump but since there isn't a set release date yet hopefully time to figure all this out unless it's already taken care of Earlier DVD releases had Iori Nomizu sing "Glory Days" for episodes 1-3, "Predawn Song" for episode 3 (double ending for this episode), and "Breathless" for episodes 4-11īut if for the TV broadcast maybe only Breathless for all 11 episodes is used, then "Glory Days" and "Predawn Song" are excluded? If the TV broadcast version is used that means this opening would be excluded? Or did Tomokazu Seki only sing the opening for episodes 1-3? MAL isn't perfect so who knows if actually separate material, they could be automatically tacked on after the end of certain episodes and someone randomly made an entry for it.Īlso if the TV broadcast masters are used will all the opening and ending songs still be available as creditless versions?įrom what I remember the DVD releases did not have an opening theme song for some of the episodes but for the broadcast a new opening was made, "Higher Ground" sung by Tomokazi Seki (Kenichi's Japanese seiyuu) for all 11 episodes if reported correctlyīut for the earlier DVD releases Iori Nomizu sang the opening "WISH" for episodes 4-11 Not sure if it's possible to Frankenstein both masters unless the TV broadcast masters are definitively better and uncensored.Īccording to MAL there are also 4 omake episodes included as bonus material on the Japanese DVDs. Was the TV broadcast aired for all-ages? If so there might be censorship. Any chance the M&E tracks for the DVDs are better than the broadcast or vice versa? Was any animation updated from DVD to broadcast? In the stream it was mentioned the M&E tracks unfortunately weren't the greatest quality. I assume the masters are the HD TV broadcast and that's fine but having never seen the broadcast version I don't know if there are any changes between that and the OVA DVD releases.
